Great post over at goop.com.

A little boy’s charm will melt your heart.
You can follow the evolution of my hair as I countdown the days to donating it to Locks-of-love. I’m getting the most out of my long locks by styling it different ways in the next month. And I’ll be posting pictures on my myspace.

My hair is a really big deal to me. Maybe you think it’s weird or vain. But the Bible calls it a woman’s glory. My “glory” is going to be given for a good cause, and it’s a humbling experience.
But I’ve never decided to do it. I’m talking about cutting my hair. I’ve had really long hair for a while now. The last time I had a significant cut was Summer 2003.
About this time last year, I started seriously thinking about getting a cut. I’m making that decision one year later. And mainly because of the fact that I found out about a salon in Asheville that is offering a free haircut to peple who donate thier hair to Locks-of-Love. I’ve actually done that before, and it’s a great cause. So I’m finally making the decision because the opportunity is right in front of me.
So on June 2, I’ll say fairwell to my long (and lovely) locks. (Oh dear, I shouldn’t think about it – I’ll change my mind again. No, I’m booked in for the donation now. It’s settled!)
Here’s a good shot from last summer of my hair. I’m sure I’ll post before and after pictures later.
