It’s about brushing up on your fashion awareness, building your self-confidence, and having fun!

My husband and I went to the mall last night, and we took “window shopping” to another level! Our first stop was American Eagle, and we each picked a couple of outfits for ourselves – our own tastes and likes – and then tried them on oohing and gooing at each other when we opened our opposite doors. We then went to the Gap and chose to pick an outfit for the other – whatever we’d like to see the other person in. That was personally one of my favorite parts. David has a laid back, very chill, comfortable style, so it was so fun to give him a preppy beach look from Gap. I swear he could be a male model.

Here’s a few of the shots I took:

You can see the rest on flickr.

I think everyone should go out and do this. Don’t even look at the price of the clothes. I know I had so much fun and enjoyed seeing how I look in different things.

“You have no idea how much this stretched me,” David said. So go on out and stretch yourself a little!

Last night, just before we drifted off to sleep, my husband mused:

If there are six billion people in the world, and you account for a third of them being children, that leaves 4 billion adults and perhaps half of them are couples and half singles. So that’s 1 billion couples. Out of the 1 billion couples, how many do you reckon love like we love and have what we have? I’d say only about 100 million. That’s still quite rare.

Yes, I do believe the love we have is rare. And that was definitely a moment to remember.

On December 22, we’ll celebrate three years. And this year, for a present, I convinced my husband into creating a YouTube channel together. We’re going to vlog about marriage from both his perspective and mine for a year. We probably won’t have a video out every day or every week even, but hopefully we’ll get a decent viewership. So, here’s a little pre-advertising for the coolest new channel on YouTube! We’re not sure what we’re going to call it or if we’re going to use our real names and locations and such. But whatever we do, we’ll make sure it’s trendy and fun!

I’m kinda hoping it serves a little more than just a fun outlet for me, but maybe even gives a good perspective on marriage for our generation. If you know what I mean, it’s often not looked at in a positive light. A lot of people seem to write it off as an agreement you get into in order to live a somewhat distant life from each other – like a contract. Hopefully, though, we can add a little spice to the current image our 20 something counterparts see marriage as and help them believe it can be as fun, adventurous, and romantic as it’s designed to be!

Be on the look out, and I’ll obviously post a link from here to the channel. First “episode” airs Monday, December 22!

but I’ve been changing the layout of this blog quite frequently over the past week or so. I think I’ve settled on this one for a while. What do you think?

I used to use the WordPress “Freshy” theme quite consistently, but I don’t know, I get tired of the same design way too quickly.

But enough about the trivial things. I promised myself I would write tonight, even if I didn’t know what to write about. Somehow, writing makes me feel better, makes the clarity of mind improve. I’m certain that is why ‘catharsis’ is in my blog title. You fellow writers know what it’s like to at least get something down on (virtual) paper. Even if it’s nothing much, it’s a sign of perseverance – the opposite of leaving a white flag out somewhere.

The issue with writing for me at the moment is the fact that now that I’m working consistently 40 hour work weeks with plenty to do during my work day, time for writing has significantly decreased, which just means that I will have to prove to myself how much I really want it – how much I really want to write. I thoroughly believe you will do what you want to. We always find time to do what is most important to us.

I think I’ll finish off this post with some random pictures. One is from my cousin’s baby shower for her second daughter, whom she is naming Chloe Grace. And the other is of my husband and his recent facial fashion.

The neat “diaper cake” at my cousin’s baby shower this weekend:

And my husband’s recent interest in the “Wolverine” look:

Hugh Jackman, move over.
