GIF files are awesome. Go here.
Some time this past week, I read in someone’s flickr photostream that “screen caps are the new poloroids.” I love taking screen captures, or screen shots, especially of stuff online, so I think I’ll implement them more on my blog.
Take this for instance. Today was beautiful.

It was like Spring! We ventured out to get our car that had been being worked on for the past several weeks. We now finally have both our cars. It’s incredible how mostly in America two people in a household need two seperate cars, but in England, where David’s family live, they share one car among three people. Sometimes, I fancy the idea of living in a big city where public transport is more available. But mostly, I love my life here in Western NC.
Recently, I’ve subscribed to several podcasts on iTunes.

I’m really very excited about each of them for different reasons. Of note, I found a podcast called PODRUNNER. Each week or so, this DJ puts out a mix for your workout. I’ve mentioned my love for getting in the zone during my workouts by listening to loud music before, so now I’m excited to get in the gym again and try this music out. It’ll be great not having to flip through several songs my iPod while I’m doing my cardio since the podcasts are about an hour long!
Everyday, I find a new reason why I love the internet and technology and living in this generation.
I’m now using the Safari Internet browser. And I use iTunes instead of Windows Media Player. But I have a Sony Vaio laptop and Windows Vista on it. I’m desperate for a Mac, but in the meantime, I’m being a sort of loser by pretending that my computer is fashionable and trendy. I’m a loser anyway, because I pretend that I am, too.
Anyway, whatever Apple did to influence the entire world to buy their products is amazing. I had a discussion about this once in a marketing and advertising class. Basically, Apple completely changed their marketing campaign, geared it toward the younger, more web-savvy crowd, and wiped the image of their company from a technical, work-environment based line of products to a trendy, “gotta-have-this-for-my-life” line of products. The invention of both the iPod and the iPhone made it a lot easier for Apple to have that high demand “it” product as well.
If you don’t have the Mac products, you sure do want them. And that sure is mass marketing influencing mass appeal if I’ve ever seen it. Go Mac.
Last night was the first time I’ve seen one in person. The infamous iPhone:
I mean, it is pretty cool. My friend just got one. And even though she’s not quite obsessed like this girl is, she definitely enjoys having one. I was pretty amazed at how responsive it is to the movements of your fingers and hands, like how the screen will automatically adjust if you tilt it from vertical to horizontal. Pretty “futuristic,” I’d say.
And a nifty little thing I was reacquainted with yesterday is SPARKLERS – not just your average July 4th novelty.
I especially enjoy my version of the Olympic Rings – I told you. I’m kinda obsessed right now.
